The Way of Transition
When a new chapter in our life begins we'd love to celebrate.

🤩 A new job
🤩 A move to a new community
🤩 The kids have left the nest
🤩 Graduating
🤩 Retiring
We'd love it if Life would ThRoW uS a PaRtY. 🥳🥳🥳
But it doesn't. And even if it did...it's pretty likely we wouldn't want to attend.
Because new chapters are HARD. Change--life transition--is hard.
Even if you chose the change and even if there's something in there to celebrate. (How do I know? LOL. I know.)
Life change is full of so many emotions (fear, anticipation, grief, frustration, confusion, and more) and they weigh us down, distract us, and consume us.
And I haven't even mentioned the life changes we DIDN'T CHOOSE.
💔 Death of a loved one
💔 Ending of a relationship
💔 Entering a new age/stage in life
💔 A difficult diagnosis
💔 Losing a career
💔 Infertility
Life is pretty much one long chain of transitions. And when we were young, it was one thing. Did we even notice?
But now that we are grown...
We've learned this: life change is EXHAUSTING and it is not going to end. If we've learned anything it's that transitions are just a part of life. 🐛🦋...🐛🦋...🐛🦋...🐛🦋...🐛🦋...
So...how do we navigate it?
One way is this: Making art 🎨 in intimate, tender-hearted community.
When we make art in times of emotional turmoil we *do** feel our pain AND we feel lighter and more grounded. We feel some relief and catharsis in the creative act.
We get out of our heads 🧠 and into our hearts ❤ and onto the page📖.
All you need is an art journal, some art supplies, and someone to hold space for you.
In this way, a creative process is a kind of emotional navigation system, your creative GPS. With that we can make our way through the Sea of the Unknown (what I call the thick of our transitions) and back to solid ground again.
When I’m in transition I know I need to make art. My heart calls me to make art. I know making art would help…but it's often hard enough to just function; do my usual tasks; accomplish the regular things.
Having someone safe who I trust to hold space for me, to encourage me and be there for me...that makes all the difference.
And for you, that someone is me, the Midwife to Your Creative Spirit.
My passion in life is holding space for you in the in-between. I believe whole-heartedly in this messy, creative journey and its power to heal and awaken your deepest wisdom and transform your life.
And with transitions, that's what it's all about. The journey. Navigating the tricky terrain of endings and beginnings and finding our way back to our center.🎯
And so, I created this powerful program: The Way of Transition:
♥ Make art from your transitions.
♥ Share your stories and your art.
♥ Laugh and cry together.
♥ Move forward.
♥ Be held in sacred, intimate, tender-hearted community.
♥ Be held by a seasoned, grounded and creative facilitator.
The Way of Transition is a powerful way through. And it is open to you.
WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR? It's open to anyone who would like to explore their experience of any type of life transition (chosen or not, positive or not, recent or not) through the expressive arts and community.
You don't need to know how to art journal. You don't need to have any artistic experience or training. This is not a typical art class and we welcome any who feel drawn to the work.
