I Prescribe Glitter. And Polka Dots.
My client, Meghan, challenged me recently.
She looked at me and said, "Susie, I don't want to spend all my time digging into the hard stuff. I need fluorescent colors. I need glitter. I need polka dots."
Honestly? I couldn't agree more.
Are you surprised?
If you’ve ever worked with me you know that I ALWAYS am saying, “This isn’t about making a pretty art journal page.”
So, clearly, this is a bit of a departure from that philosophy!
You know me as a grief guide. A creativity coach. Someone who isn't afraid to sit with the hard conversations and tears. (I mean, my tagline is: I make people cry with art supplies.)
But I don't think healing is meant to always start with black paint on the page.
Life is hard, friend. Life is so, so hard these days. And if you're like me—or like Meghan—you need to lean into the joy.
You don't just need another place to process your pain.
You need more color. More laughter.
More opportunities to feel joy deep in your belly.
I want you to PLAY. To make a MESS. To dive into your art supplies bin and come out with the stick-on googly eyes and gold stars and make ridiculous art on scraps of paper.
And then I want you to have the kinds of conversations that change how you see yourself—and realize that the glitter and the conversation were never separate things.
Because creativity is where we discover ourselves.
That's the kind of life I want for the women I work with. That’s the kind of life I want for you.
A life in full color and full bling. ✨
Glitter, too, of course.
