Finding Your Inner Strengths
I'm thankful for my struggle because without it I wouldn't have stumbled across my strengths.
~ Alex Elle
What inner strengths are you counting on to stay afloat these days?
These are times of great uncertainty, times of feeling off balance. An open and unstable period in our collective experience.
These days, when I ask myself: "How the hell am I going to survive this crazy time?" I find that there actually are answers within. My inner wisdom is there to remind me: "Oh, Susie, you have so many ways to be strong. Don't you worry, my friend."
I am creative. I can use that creative impulse to divert and distract myself, I can use it to heal and transform my narrative. I can use it to inspire others and show them how to heal and transform their narratives, too. Ok. Creative, check!
I am a good listener. I am sitting with others during this slow down time. My friends, family, my students. I'm not only listening deeply to their stories but sharing mine as well. In this strange time I am feeling more space for deep listening. Ok, good listener, check!
I'm a connector, someone who thrives in connection. I'm using that strength to create opportunities for people to also be connected and find the power and energy of community. Not only is Creative Life Raft thriving, but I have more deep dive programs up my sleeve; I'm getting ready to share with you new ways to explore your inner landscape with me online. Connector, check!
I'm a maker. There's rarely a time when I don't have so many projects on my drawing board, some that have been fleshed out in a variety of cards and thought bubbles, some with sticky notes and weblinks. I am making magic online. I am making magic on my actual easel with several canvases and many tubes of acrylic paints in process. Being a maker helps me to feel alive. Maker, check!
And, I am a lover, a heart-centered human. My work and life choices always come from that place. I hope that that radiates out to you as well, that you know that my offerings, including these missives, all come from that place too. Lover, check!
We all need to find our inner resources to maintain our balance these days. Looking within to identify our strengths is a way to give ourselves confidence and assurance: We have what we need to stay afloat.
