Finding the Light

I loved the stars too fondly to fear the night.
~ Galileo

How are you finding the light these days?

Here you sit inside one of the most challenging moments of your life. There are so many questions. There are few answers…and the ones you do have don’t give much comfort. You haven’t ever done this before. You don’t know how to do it right. And you spend a lot of time feeling a combination of overwhelm, grief, panic, and inertia.

How do you grapple with the present moment?

How can you appreciate the darkness?

How can you keep the faith that the light will return without that hope getting pushed back by the fears?

Words arise: TRUST. BREATHE. SURRENDER.

We look for the sparks of light in the darkness. We grasp onto those. We look to the sages of our times and times past and listen with new ears to their words. We look to each other for community, connection and reassurance that we are not, in fact, alone in this. We look deep inside ourselves for strength we did not know we had.

And we breathe. Into this moment. Into each moment. We breathe and continue to sit in the darkness, to lean towards the light, to be present and find that it is true. There is light. There is dark. The human experience is both.

How can you find the light in these dark times?
